I want to preface this post by confirming that you shouldn’t read too much into the colour scheme we chose for the nursery this time around. I don’t buy into ‘boy’ colours’ or ‘girl’ colours – and opted for what I thought was a rather gender-neutral finished product (until people kept asking me if the blue is a hint….no it is not!) You might recall that for Charlotte’s nursery we went with an orange / green theme…
This time, rather than do a complete overhaul – we changed a few things around and created a new ‘feel’ to the nursery with a blue / grey colour scheme.
Let’s take a tour, shall we?
While I loved the old fabric chair that was in C’s nursery, Mr BBB found it a tad uncomfortable during those late unsettled nights, so he talked me into upgrading to a Stressless recliner. Not the ‘prettiest’ of chairs but I have to admit that it is quite comfy….
We used the same cot and change table – just jazzed up with some new chevron and grey linen.
I got a little carried away with some arts and crafts a few months ago(early nesting?!) – making a mobile to hang above the cot. And found new prints to match the emerging colour scheme.
I even talked Mr BBB into hanging some blue curtains – although they probably work more to give the room some extra colour rather than offering any significant ‘block out’ feature.
So there you have it…our nursery round 2! Which, truthfully, was a little bittersweet to put together as it meant moving Miss C to her ‘big girl’ room (must show you that room too sometime soon…)
But as for the new nursery – all that’s missing now is a little bubba to fill it!
